Domestic Couple Northamptonshire

Housekeeper:

• Cleaning kitchen and breakfast room
• Setting the table for mealtimes when required
• Keeping refrigerator and freezer clean
• Cleaning the oven/ aga
• Keep track of chemicals and cleaning products and inform employer of low stock
• Cleaning kitchen throughout its use during day
• Cleaning dog room daily
• Dusting, sweeping, mopping and vacuuming daily the main areas of the house
• Responsible for changing, washing, ironing and general care of all the bed linen and preparing guest bedrooms
• Putting out rubbish for collection
• Tidying and cleaning bathrooms, bedrooms and living areas
• Cleaning unused rooms on a less frequent basis
• Polishing brass and silver, antiques and fine furniture
• Polishing wooden floors and doors
• Collecting, washing, ironing and returning laundry to the appropriate place. Hand washing delicate items
• Knowledge of stain removal and care of delicate items required
• Sewing and mending of clothing beneficial
• Answering door and telephone when employer is unavailable
• Must love dogs - Feeding and exercising dog when employer is unavailable
• Keeping patios, pathways and steps clean and tidy
• Keeping ground floor window sills and windows clean (inside and out)
• Inside window cleaning
• Watering and care of household plants
• Use of security alarm when employer not available
• Occasional assistance with meal preparation for entertaining
• Assist with the occasional entertaining, offering drinks, and serving at the table.
• Carrying out any other tasks that the employer may reasonably ask related to the house
• Clean for employers parents two mornings a week as they live in a cottage on the drive

Gardener/handyman/all-rounder

• Keeping the outside of the residence tidy
• Window cleaning/ guttering etc
• Drive clearance
• Bin/ waste management
• Garden furniture maintenance and moving (into and out of storage) cushions out in summer
• Occasionally driving to airports etc
• Caring for the cars, polishing and cleaning inside and out regularly, you must hold a clean driving licence.
• Garden and grounds maintenance including repairs (e. g. fencing, watering, flowerbeds, pruning, etc. )
• Light household maintenance and DIY (e. g. light bulb replacement in chandelier, loose tap fixing, paint touch up etc. )
• Mowing
• Strimming, hedge trimming, chain sawing. Must have good knowledge of these tools and be able to look after them
• Keeping fireplaces clean and stocked in winter (includes firewood chopping from grounds)
• Swimming pool clear of leaves and debris
• Tennis court maintenance

Must be willing to travel to Italy over a couple of weeks during the summer to help out at busy times at the employers second home. This would be primarily done by the housekeeper.
